Andre Perry to co-chair Education Task Force

Dr. Andre Perry, Chief Executive Officer of the Capital One-University of New Orleans Charter School Network, has been named co-chair of the Transition New Orleans Education Task Force. New Orleans mayor-elect Mitch Landrieu announced his selection of Perry and Sophie B. Wright Charter School Principal Sharon Clark to lead the task force.
“We have two of the most respected and innovative education experts in the country right here in New Orleans, and I’m delighted to announce that Dr. Andre Perry and Ms. Sharon Clark have agreed to co-chair the Education Task Force,” said Landrieu.
“There have been a number of progressive education models across the city, and now, under the leadership of Mayor-elect Landrieu, it is the time to take those best practices to every one of our schools,” said Perry.
The Education Task Force will work during transition period to identify strong partnerships and collaborations between city government, nonprofits, schools, students, teachers and parents to produce positive opportunities that create successful and productive youth.
